Michael Goudge, oil on glass.
Michael is currently living in Victoria, British Columbia. He attended the University of Victoria, where he enjoyed the tutelage of world-renowned sculptor, Roland Brenner. He also studied at Malaspina University, in Nanaimo, B.C. in the Fine Arts Department. Abstract, luminous fine art, is his current obsession.
Michael utilizes old windows from heritage restorations, giving each one another opportunity to show us the world, anew. Each piece is backlit, using warm spectrum, low-energy (and non-wall-scorching) LED bulbs, and sits about three inches off the wall, on short metal pegs. The glass for each piece is sanded and treated, ensuring maximum adhesion and longevity.
